The Greek Fur Institute was created with the main purpose to promote the Greek fur industry and defending the interests of Greek furriers artisans of the region of Kastoria and Siatistas . In furtherance of the industry undertakes to inform the general public about the Greek fur industry , raise the entire industry and to contribute to the international recognition of the industry as the best in the world in the production of finished fur . The starting point was to create brand name for the art of fur and fur ready under the name "GreekFur" and implement a reliable system for distribution and control of the label "GreekFur". Created by local unions of fur and the Chamber of Kastoria and supported by the Greek State.

Fur Association of Siatista
"The Prophet Elias"
The Fur Association of Siatista “The Prophet Elias” was founded in 1925.
It currently has around 500 members - furrier offering several decades, the best quality fur and serve many customers around the world.
The purpose of the association is the combination of all these people who process and market their furs in a single organization for the joint effort of progress and development of the industry.
One of the major fields of action of the Association to promote the professional interests of the people it represents, is the visibility and promotion of the main product, the fur, the domestic and international markets, which is achieved by participation in various exhibitions in Greece and abroad.
A second field of activity is to inform members about the fashion trends prevailing in international markets - due to modulation of modern needs - so they can meet every requirement and different incomes. It organizes seminars and updated for all existing projects which will help the members on the subject of their work.
As a carrier that has a key concern of protecting the financial interests of its members, gives hard struggles to overcome the problems that occasionally facing the industry and which are the result of more general difficulties (international political instability, economic crisis, unemployment, ecological movements n.A.). Attempts are being made and demonstrations to address and solve these problems from the side of the Association in collaboration with the states - furrier. Efforts will continue until you recover the fur industry and to give a new growth trajectory in all fur businesses.
