The Greek Fur Institute was created with the main purpose to promote the Greek fur industry and defending the interests of Greek furriers artisans of the region of Kastoria and Siatistas . In furtherance of the industry undertakes to inform the general public about the Greek fur industry , raise the entire industry and to contribute to the international recognition of the industry as the best in the world in the production of finished fur . The starting point was to create brand name for the art of fur and fur ready under the name "GreekFur" and implement a reliable system for distribution and control of the label "GreekFur". Created by local unions of fur and the Chamber of Kastoria and supported by the Greek State.

A local institution with leading international action
The Kastoria Fur Association is the official union of furring entrepreneurs in Kastoria. Established in 1915 and maintained its seat in the city, with 300 registered members - furrier.
Aims of the organization, the "KASTORIAN FUR ASSOCIATION THE PROPHET ELIAS" is the study and promotion of common economic, social and professional interests of its members, under the service of society, and the study, protection and promotion of ethical, economic and professional interests of its members and to develop the spirit of solidarity and synadelfoseos therebetween.
Specifically:
- The development - helping, developing the spirit of unionism in the industry of furriers members, by making the participation of all the level unions - and through them - the corresponding secondary and tertiary unions.
- The systematic study of the problems of industries in the most convenient collective claims and resolve them.
- The development of a culture of solidarity and mutual aid among members and ensuring conditions for improving the training and growth of the cultural and educational level.
- The responsibility for supervision and oversight organization , under the auspices of "KASTORIAN FUR ASSOCIATION THE PROPHET ELIAS" Annual International Fur Fair of Kastoria city.
